1. General principles
This page is all about how, why and when we use your personal information. Protecting your privacy is our priority and we’re committed to taking good care of any data that you share or we collect.
When you register for a Nationwide Developer Portal account, we will collect and process your personal information. This Privacy Policy sets out how we will use that information.
We will use your information for a number of different purposes, for example, to provide our services to you and others and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We may also share your information with our trusted third parties for these purposes.
You have certain rights when it comes to your personal information and there are a number of requests you can make. 2. What information we collect and hold

As a registered user of the Nationwide Developer Portal, we will collect and process the following information about you:
  • First and last name;
  • IP address;
  • Email address;
  • Organisation name;
  • Nationwide Developer Portal user log-on details and information relating to your use of this; and
  • Such other information as you provide to us, or which we collect, in your use of the Nationwide Developers Portal from time to time.

3. How we use it
We (and other members of the Nationwide Group and our service providers) may process your information for the purposes of:
  • Administering and operating the Nationwide Developers Portal, including to intermediate and monitor your access to the Portal and your use of API Details and APIs;
  • Performing our obligations and exercising our rights under the Terms of Use and Restricted API Access Terms (if applicable), Open API Licence and, as applicable, the Access Terms and API Licence;
  • Requesting you to test for us (unless you have opted out of marketing or we are prevented by law from doing so); and
  • Complying with our legal and regulatory requirements.

4. Who we might need to share your information with
  • We may share your information with the Nationwide Group, our service providers and, if applicable, our regulators, law enforcement agencies and government bodies and agencies; and
  • We (or third parties acting on our behalf) may also store or process information that we collect about you in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where we are sharing information with organisations in another country, we will ensure they agree to apply equivalent levels of protection as we do. If this is not possible – for example because we are required by law to disclose information – we will ensure the sharing of that information is lawful.
We have put in place technical and organisational security measures to prevent the loss or unauthorised access of your personal information. However, whilst we have used our best efforts to ensure the security of your data, please be aware that we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.

5. How long keep your information
We will retain information collected about you listed above for as long as permitted for legitimate business purposes or required by law.

Nationwide uses technology which collects and retrieves information from your computer, smartphone or tablet’s browser when you visit and use our digital services (e.g. our websites, our apps and emails).
